Buster Posey once played all nine positions during a baseball game. His team won!

Buster Posey once played all nine positions during a baseball game. His team won!
Back in 2008, Buster Posey (former San Francisco Giants player), played for Florida State University. On May 12, during a game against Savannah State University, he hit a grand glam and played all nine fielding positions!

And not only that; His team won 10-0! His performance during that game was great; in fact while he was playing as a pitcher that day, he struck out both batters he faced!

2008 was in fact a great year for Posey; he hit .463 with 26 home runs and 3 RBI and won multiple awards such as the Johnny Bench Award, Collegiate Baseball Player of the Year award, Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award among many others!

When it comes to doing something you love there are no limitations to what you can do; always give your best, just like Buster Posey would.

The Cincinnati Reds changed their name in the 50s so they wouldn't be called communists!

The Cincinnati Reds changed their name in the 50s so they wouldn't be called communists!
The Cold war was not an event that only affected political affairs throughout the United States; it also changed important aspects of it's sports!

People were scared of being accused of being communist, and by this being imprisoned and considered traitors. The fear propagated throughout the entire country, and this fear was able to reach the Cincinnati Reds!

From 1953 to 1958 the Cincinnati Reds officially changed their name to the “Cincinnati Redlegs” because they were afraid of being thought to be associated with communism! The club’s logo was altered to remove the term “REDS” from the inside of the “wishbone C” symbol.

And not only that; players were also asked to keep a clean cut look! Players were not meant to have long hair or facial hair since they didn’t want to be seemed as rebels or anything associated with it.

Now in 2013, “The big red machine” is amongst the greatest baseball teams in history ever! Hopefully they’ll still be making history with a lot more championships.

Get A Sportacular Kick Out Of The New Yahoo! Sports App For iPhone And iPad

Yahoo has just updated its sports-centric iOS app, Yahoo! Sportacular, to version 4.0.
Thing is, following its 4.0 update, the app is no longer called Yahoo! Sportacular. Instead, it’s now simply known as Yahoo! Sports.
Also, it’s worth noting that, for some reason, chat is no longer supported in version 4.0 of the app.
But not to worry, the new Yahoo! Sports app is nonetheless enhanced with new features and improvements, foremost of which is universal support.
Released way back in 2008 as an app optimized for iPhone and iPod touch only, the app is now, finally, optimized for and natively compatible with iPad as well.
Yahoo! Sports
In addition to universal support, the following enhancements are included in the new Yahoo! Sports app:

Login to Yahoo! Sports to sync your favorite teams across mobile apps and the web.
Refreshed design – A clean new look for a new era makes scanning and navigation a breeze.
“Live Games” – Follow every in-progress game across all supported leagues from the “Live” tab on Trending scores.
Game tweets – Follow the action with live game tweets from local beat writers and team experts.
Pitch by pitch – Our baseball game experience is even better with pitch-by-pitch information for every at-bat.

Now compatible with iPad as well as iPhone and iPod touch, Yahoo! Sports (formerly Yahoo! Sportacular) is available now in the App Store for free.
For more apps for the sports fan in you, check out our sports-centric AppList.

Nick's a great young baseball player but the condition doesn't let him play the game he loves or be around large crowds, at least for the time being.
