3D Printer Creates ‘Magic Arms’ For Two-Year-Old Girl
Emma was born with arthrogryposis multiplex congenita (AMC), a rare disease that cripples joints and limbs. Because of this condition, the two-year-old girl couldn't play with blocks, bring food to her mouth or hug her mother. That is, until engineers at the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children used a 3D printer to create a durable exoskeleton that helps her lift her arms.
