Brian May, guitarist for Queen has a PhD in Astrophysics! As if being the guitarist for Queen and an accomplished songwriter wasn’t enough, May also graduated from Imperial College London in May 2008 with a PhD in Astrophysics.  He had originally obtained his BSc Hons before Queen became successful, but put his studying on hold to become a full-time musician.
